Walk to UF Shands Ultimate Tailgate House

The Ultimate UF Location – Across from Campus, Shands, & Sorority Row

This is not simply a home "near UF." The University of Florida campus is directly across the street.

Welcome to one of Gainesville's most uniquely located vacation homes, positioned at the iconic corner of SW 13th Street and Archer Road, directly across from the University of Florida and UF Health Shands Hospital and adjacent to Sorority Row.

Coming for a Gator football weekend?
This is the ultimate tailgating home base. Gather on the expansive front lawn before the game, park your cars at the house, and walk across to UF campus and on toward Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Coming to Shands?
Shands Hospital is directly across the street, making this an exceptionally convenient choice for medical stays, visiting physicians, hospital employees and families supporting loved ones.

And there's another piece of Gainesville history here: Legend has it, Tom Petty, one of Gainesville's most legendary musicians, once lived in this home.

The Home:
This spacious 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath home combines character, comfort and an unbeatable location for families and groups traveling together. The house has been extensively renovated while retaining the architectural details that give it personality. Beautiful refinished hardwood floors run throughout much of the home, while the distinctive staircase creates a dramatic focal point in the main living area.

One of the best features of this home is the size and flexibility of the bedrooms. Several oversized bedrooms have been arranged with multiple beds, making the house especially well suited for families, groups of friends, wedding guests, Gator fans and multiple couples or families traveling together. The rooms feature comfortable bedding, hardwood floors, ceiling fans and plenty of space for luggage and longer stays. Therefore, the sleeping arrangements make it easy to keep everyone together under one roof.

Spacious Living & Gathering Areas:
Throughout the home, large windows provide abundant natural light, while multiple gathering areas give your group room to be together without feeling crowded. The main living room is designed for gathering. With multiple sofas and chairs, there's plenty of comfortable seating for your group to relax after a day on campus, watch TV, catch up with friends or plan the next day's Gainesville adventures. The home's original architectural details and distinctive staircase give the room character you won't find in a generic new-build rental. This is a home where your group can actually spend time together—not simply a collection of bedrooms.

Fully Equipped, Updated Kitchen:
The newly renovated kitchen offers plenty of room for everything from morning coffee to game-day food and family dinners. You'll find quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, custom cabinetry and generous prep space, along with the essentials needed to prepare meals during your stay. Whether you're putting together breakfast before heading to campus, preparing snacks for a tailgate or ordering takeout and gathering in the kitchen, there's plenty of room for the group.

Dining Space Made for Gathering:
The dining room provides another dedicated gathering area for meals, conversation and game nights. It's especially convenient for groups who want the flexibility to enjoy meals at home rather than eating every meal out—and on busy Gainesville weekends, having your own dining and gathering space can be a huge advantage.

The Ultimate Gator Tailgating Home Base:
Football weekends are where this property really shines. The home's expansive front lawn provides an incredible outdoor gathering area directly across from UF campus. Set up your chairs, bring out the yard games, enjoy food and drinks with your group and soak up the Gator game-day atmosphere before heading to The Swamp. When it's time for the game, there's no need to pile everyone back into cars and fight Gainesville traffic. You're already here. And after the game, you can walk back to your own Gainesville home base. Nothing in the area beats it!

Private Outdoor Space:
In addition to the huge front lawn, the home offers a spacious private patio with outdoor dining and seating. Surrounded by greenery and overlooking a peaceful wooded backdrop, it's a great place to enjoy morning coffee, an outdoor meal or a quiet evening after a busy day. The outdoor areas give your group multiple options: enjoy the energy of Gainesville and UF out front, then retreat to a more private setting behind the home.

Parking for Up to 4 Vehicles:
Anyone who has spent a busy weekend near the University of Florida knows what an advantage this is. The property offers on-site parking for up to 4 vehicles, something increasingly difficult to find this close to UF. Your group can arrive, park at the house and leave the cars behind for many of your plans. For football weekends, graduation, Greek events and major UF events, having this much private parking directly across from campus is an exceptional convenience.

!!!!!The main level of the home is central air. The two bedrooms on the second floor have window AC. You will hear traffic because of the close proximity to UF and Shands. There are cameras and they are monitored on the front and sides of the house.!!!!!!!!!!!!
